Multitudes of brothers and and sisters in the city of Katsina followers of leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky have attended the centre for brothers and sisters otherwise known as Markaz located at K/Marusa to celebrate the annual birthday of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and that of the 12th infallible Imam Mahammad Al-Mahadiy (ATF), a ceremony that is observing across zones and chapters of the Movement.
Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, the spiritual leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, a stable and peaceful Movement that started since late 70's was born on 15th of Sha'aban the Hirah Calendar in the city of Zaria. In a similar program, the 12th infallible Imam, Imam Mahadiy (ATF) among the series of the Imams being followed by members of the Movement was also born same day, 15th Sha'aban the Hijrah Calendar.
Islamic Movement in Nigeria since its inception had been suffering series of brutal oppressions from different Nigerian regimes, where thousands of its members were extrajudicially killed by different administerations for their held belief and being non-submissive to tyranny and tyrant leaders.
The Movement and its leader have been victims of state sponsored terrorism especially in the about six years of Buhari regime which is still trying to sweep its crimes under the carpet, which God willing it will not succeed.
Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and his wife Zeenat have been detained for over 5 years now since the preplanned attack carried by Nigerian Army on the Movement in 2015 where over 1000 innocent members were killed. A competent court in Abuja, the capital, had in 2016 passed a favourable judgment in favour of the Movement where it ordered their release but Buhari administeration has been refusing to obey some of the court judgements and orders, especially the landmark judgement by Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court Abuja the year 2016.
