The Nigerian Police Command, Lagos State, has arrested a gang of notorious armed robbers which allegedly hijacked trucks at gunpoint in different parts of Ondo, Oyo, Ogun and Lagos states after intelligence reports were given to them.
Reports hard it that among the seven suspects was a 54- year- old grandmother, Bola Ajayi, who was apprehended in the Ilupeju area of Lagos State for allegedly introducing all her children to crime.
Our correspondent gathered that the gang members were arrested by operatives attached to the zonal command.
According to the police the six suspects that were arrested including the old woman are all family members. and were arrested at about 10am while allegedly on a robbery operation at a hotel in Ore, Ondo State, at the point of their arrest
Two locally- made guns and one dummy gun were recovered from them.
Information hard it that this suspects were always operating on daily basis with the help of the Charms done for them by their mother who automatically was the head of the gang.
The Assistant Inspector- General of Police, Zone 2, Abdulmajid Ali, who arrested the gang, said investigation was concluded.
He said, " The suspects were arrested in Ore, Ondo State; Fiditi, Oyo State; and Ogijo, Ogun State. The syndicate confessed to hijacking and robbing about four trailers between 2015 and now. They were also involved in serial kidnappings in different states, serious investigations was done and it was discovered all the suspects are related.
The old woman after series of investigations confessed of how she introduced all her children and grand children to crime and still backs them up with charms which protects them from being caught.
She said she should be the only one to be punished and her children to be released.
The police inspector expressed total disappointment on the woman and promised to charge her to court immediately.
