Rev. father Steven of ST Merry Church Dutsinma of Katsina state has pledged to be including leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky in their daily prayers. The Rev. said this today Sunday 3rd of Jan. 2021 when he warmly received members of Youths Forum of the Islamic Movement in a homage paid by the youths to the Church members at Dutsima.
The visiting crew were led by Eng. Hussaini Bello Bakori and he addressed the Church members on behalf of followers of El-Zakzky in Dutsinma.
"The essence of attending the service today Sunday is to extend our well wishes you as you recently celebrated the Christamas Day and new year last Friday, as well, to promote love, tolerance, and understanding among us", said Eng. Bakori.
Bakori added that, "Well, the birth of Jesus was recently celebrated and we feel that we also have our concern to share with you the feelings of the day Jesus was born. This is also part of efforts being put by our leader, Sheikh Zakzaky, to promote the peaceful coexistence among all Nigerians despite our differences in religious belief".
While extending sincere appreciation for the kind visit on behalf of the Church members, Rev. Father Steven deeply lamented over what had happened to Sheikh Zakzaky in 2015 and his continued detention, therefore, pledged to be including him and his wife in their daily prayers at Church and in the homes.
Rev. Steven eventually called on followers of Sheikh Zakzaky to add more grease to their elbows towards the kind gesture and all acts that pleases the Almighty God. They should also sensitize on prayers for Allah's help over the issue.
At the end of the visit, a gift was offered to the Church members that would evoke and stir the existing peace and unity.
