AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Iran's president instructed the head of the Plan and Budget Organisation and the ministers of ‘Education’ and ‘Communications and Information Technology’ to take steps to ensure that public schools and students use the SHAD Network free of charge, given the reopening of schools on September 5th.
Speaking on Wednesday in the cabinet meeting, Dr Hassan Rouhani emphasised that our first priority is the face-to-face education of students in schools, in strict compliance with health protocols, and said, "In the new school year, the students’ education will be in the form of face-to-face and online education”.
Dr Rouhani added, "As we have shown in recent months and with the outbreak of coronavirus, the distance between 'life and bread', 'life and work', 'livelihood and health' and 'religion and health' does not make sense, we will prove from September 5th that it does not make sense to say that there is distance between ‘life and education and studying’ by following the health protocols”.
The President stated that no Iranian child should be deprived of education this year, adding, "Apart from face-to-face education in schools, we have the state TV, which cooperates with the Ministry of Education".
In another part of his speech, Dr Rouhani thanked the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, the maraji, seminaries, and all preachers and clerics who promoted the path of mourning with wisdom this year through their words and actions, adding, "In this year’s Muharram mourning ceremony, the people combined health, wisdom, religion, rationality and tact, and recorded a glorious, special and exceptional mourning in the history of Iran”.
Referring to the economic and political situation in the country, especially after the US sanctions since 2018, the President said, "The gold of the Americans by imposing these sanctions and increasing the economic pressures was to make the Iranian people and government surrender to their illegitimate wishes, but with the devotion of the people, they realised that this is not possible”.
Dr Rouhani noted, "Despite all the hardships, the Iranian people stood up and resisted, and the government, along with other officials and other branches, endured this pressure and performed a historic miracle because no country could have imagined a large volume of severe sanctions for the past three years, the people and the government of Iran would be able to endure hardships”.
"The people have shown by their resilience that their independence, freedom and principles and rights take precedence over all that the enemies thought," the president said.
Referring to the recent US actions in imposing intense pressure on our country, Dr Rouhani said, "Since one of the provisions of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is that the arms embargo on the Islamic Republic of Iran will be completely expired in October, this is unbearable for the Americans. Therefore, they were seeking to pass a resolution in this regard, but 13 members of the Security Council opposed the US’ draft resolution, and it is rare in history that the United States proposes a resolution with only one positive vote, so it was a disgraceful defeat for the United States”.
"After this defeat, the United States sought another plan to gain reputation in its own right, and in this regard, it called for the use of a mechanism within the JCPOA, and this is while if one is familiar with the ABC’s of politics and interaction, he will understand well that if someone is out of a contract, he cannot use the privilege in that contract two or three years after the withdrawal”.
Dr Rouhani said, "The United States is making such indecent remarks in order to gain reputation and prestige for its coming elections".
The President added, "Yesterday in Vienna, the P4+1 countries explicitly stated that they are on the JCPOA’s side and the United States has no right to abuse the deal. In addition, the President of the UN Security Council completely agreed with Iran in a telephone conversation, but at the same time, the Americans started acting in vain and childishly”.
Dr Rouhani said, "Today in the UN Security Council there is a consensus on Iran's position in this regard, and this will be another great victory for Iran, which I think is unprecedented in history that a country that is in constant clash with the United States politically and legally in international forums and defeats the United States several times”.
“The United States will certainly be defeated at this stage as well, and what it is saying is completely meaningless and baseless. I assure people that the government will use all its power and authority in this regard”.
The United States has sought to defeat the Iranian people economically and force them to surrender in the face of unjust pressure, he said, adding, "The central bank has been able to raise $14.5 billion for basic and essential goods since the beginning of this year, despite the coronavirus pandemic and its problems".
Dr Rouhani pointed out, "Many countries have experienced negative economic growth during the coronavirus period and their economies have shrunk by 9, 13 and 14 percent, but despite all the pressures and sanctions in the first quarter, the Islamic Republic of Iran has experiences only 1.7 percent (i.e. Less than 2%) negative growth, indicating that everyone is working hard and production is continuing”.
Emphasising that the government, the country and the system will not surrender to the pressure of the enemies, Dr Rouhani said, "Undoubtedly, the employment and livelihood of the people will have better conditions in the coming months and other branches should know that the government is in its final 11 months, and it seeks to complete its half-finished plans, and I hope that everyone will help us to have a prosperous country together and to disappoint our enemies all over the region and the world”.
The President put emphasis on the close and cordial relations with the countries in the region and said, "Today, we have close relations with many neighbouring countries except one or two, and in the meeting that was held for this purpose last week, it was decided to develop our relations with the neighbouring and friendly countries as much as possible”.
Dr Rouhani also described interaction as an indication that a country is strong, and said, "A powerful country can have more interaction with the world and I hope in this interaction, we can maintain our share in the global economy. Today, the whole world is a market, and if we have our share in this market, we can continue the path of development and progress quickly”.
“It is through constructive interaction that we can have our share of the power and wealth market of international relations,” said Rouhani.
