ASTHMA （BRONCHIAL ASTHMA）
Asthma is a common disorder which interferes with the passage of air through respiratory tract.
CAUSES OF ASTHMA
（1）- Bronchal asthma may be caused by allergy caused by sensitivity to certain substances or conditions such as pollens or dust contained in the inhaled air, certain foods, drugs, strong odours, smoke, cold or hot conditions.
（2）- Asthma may also be caused by hereditary factors. By hereditary it is not the specific disease that is inherited but a tendency to develop sensitivity to particles or materials that are present in the surroundings.
（3）- Asthma may as well be caused by infection. A person may become infected by germs which affect the organs of breathing such that the individual becomes sensitive to the products of the responsibility for the infection.
COMMON SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF ASTHMA
（1）- Wheezing and incessant coughing. When coughing, the astmatic patient produces thick mucoid sputum which may subside instantly within half an hour to several hours.
（2）- Difficulty in breathing.
（3）- Patients skin appears blue if very high complexion because of inability to take in the normal amount of air in and out if his lungs.
（4）- The heart beats at a very rapid rate.
（5）- The bronchial tube constrict （narrowed）as a result of inflammation （swelling）of lungs.
（6）- The large veins of the neck are conspicuous.
（7）- The mouth and eyes become wide open.
（8）- The patient's face looks pale and
（9）- The patient sweats profusely.
